By 1965, the competition had jumped all over AIP’s beach party theme, so, in an effort to zig (or maybe it’s zag), AIP took their beach party road show to the slopes for Ski Party, which was just like Beach Party only colder. Diminutive Dwayne, and “small but wiry” Frankie, are ignored by all the girls on campus who swoon over tall, blond, and handsome Aaron Kincaid, and they want to know why. Of course, ignoring the obvious, they could have just asked, but where’s the ridiculous plot in that! Instead, they tag along on a co-ed ski trip and masquerade as a couple of the girls in order to better understand how the other half operates. The end result is a simple-minded sex farce without the sex. Passing through the action for no more than a minute or so is Annette, pop star Lesley Gore, soul man James Brown, and a yodeling polar bear. Naturally, our boys, after abandoning their girly guises, finally do wise up and win the objects of their affections.

Ski Party doesn’t offer much for the Cpop savvy viewer. The gang gathers at another modern-styled, Malibu beach house for the customary sand dancing scene. The interior sets are very well laid out and ooze just the right amount of mid-60’s swank.
